What would the world be like if everybody was a Jehovah Witnesses
by TotallyADD inon the news the other day they showed a young man after graduating from high school went out and got drunk and had a bad car accident.
he was paralyze from the waist down.
instead of going into deep depression of what he did to himself he started his life over and went to college and was involved in inventing a exoskeleton for disable people.

Any JW, please help- I need just one thing!
by moshe in--the name of a real live (not dead) member of the faithful and discreet slave class- someone who has admitted in public they are one of the f&ds and who can verify they have been providing the "meat in due season" for the governing body.
obviously the gb can't be the f&ds, because they are neither discreet nor do they have a position of servitude- no, they have made it plain they are the bosses over jws and jws have to obey their words, as if jehovah and jesus were speaking them, or else they will get the disfellowshiped.
just one verifiable name will do and how you obtained it.. the governing body claims that the f&ds are directing them and the worldwide work of jws, but they have never proven that they have a f&ds class they communicate with- just have one of the annointed call bethel and ask to speak to one of the gb and see what the switchboard operator does with their call.

Unfortunately it never occurred to me to question what she said, not even years later.
It is only since leaving and coming on to this forum that a lot of things like this no longer make sense to me and I now believe all of them to be delusional so would not give anything they say any credibility when it comes to holy spirit, new light and pretty much everything else I once believed.

The anointed sister I studied with told me that all the anointed are given the same message at the same time by holy spirit. They then write to the GB to inform them. When the GB receives many letters all stating the same thing at the same time they know it's the holy spirit so it becomes doctrine.

Question about food (OUTLAW, et al.)

there was a recent thread on the importance of proper heating/cooling of food.
outlaw, a chef, gave good and helpful warnings.

Most people don`t know how to handle food safely..Including many people here.
That was the point I was trying to make. I now realise I knew very little prior to going on the food handling course but I never made anyone ill before doing the course.
You can`t run a Professional Kitchen in Canada unless one person in that Kitchen is "Government Certified" in Food handling..
That person must be able to produce Government Certification to all Government Restaurant Inspectors..
That was the same in Spain. You would be shut down without the certificate and you had to retake the exams every 3 years.

Is flirting just harmless fun ?

in fact, it may be a perfectly natural and healthy way for two people to interact.
yet, as the level of involvement in flirting increases, the emotional stakes rise for the two involved parties and the uninvolved member of the relationship.

My company used to supply British food to the tourists and expats in Spain.
Prior to doing the compulsory food handling and hygiene course I thought my food handling knowledge was certainly adequate and my food hygiene definitely sufficient enough to never having given myself, my children or any of my guests food poisoning, ever.
After doing the course I discovered how many different types of bacterium there are just waiting around to make us very ill or even kill us dead. Some of which live in our hair and on our skin with no ill effects whatsoever...... most of the time.
Now back in UK I find I am completely paranoid about food handling, hygiene, storage and preparation to the extent I find it very difficult to eat outside my own home and it requires a special effort on my part to eat something I have not prepared and served myself.
In Spain even taps (water faucets) have to be turned on via a foot pedal in cafes, bars and restaurants because they might have these "killer germs" on them. These taps are not used in most eating establishments over here and certainly not in most people's homes which means any germs on your hands prior to washing for the prerequisite time of "singing Happy Birthday to yourself 3 times" will be immediately transferred back onto your hands when you turn the tap off!
I wish I didn't know any of this.

Life after death
by truthseeker ineveryone has different views about life after death and whether or not it is a possibility.. as jehovah's witnesses, we were always taught that there is no life after death, that this is the only life we have now and that the wages of sin is death.. .

but Eve did get to live roughly nine hundred years after that lie.
What about those Bethelites on the cover of the 1984 Watchtower. The generation that the WTBTS promised will not die. They had less than 30 years to live after that lie was told.
